History
Dating back 6000 years, Negev is likely one of the world's first wine regions. A revival in the 1980s and the establishment of Negev's first winery, Sde Boker, in 1999 paved the way for today's boutique wineries.

Terroir
Negev's terroir presents unique challenges and opportunities for grape cultivation:
- Elevation and Climate:Â The high elevations and warm temperatures create a distinct microclimate, allowing for the cultivation of specific grape varieties.
- Precipitation:Â The region's flash floods and low annual rainfall necessitate innovative irrigation systems, ensuring consistent water supply for the vineyards.
- Soil:Â Sandy loam and loess soils provide good drainage and retain essential nutrients, supporting the growth of both red and white grape varieties
