Gluck Estates Pinot Noir. Seventy-five years in the making.
From the limestone-rich soils of the Buda Hills in Hungary's Etyek Region, this Pinot Noir is the fruit of an extraordinary homecoming. It pours a deep, alluring garnet — the color of something both ancient and alive. The nose is generous and fragrant, opening with strawberry and raspberry jam alongside the brightness of fresh blackberries. Beneath the fruit, secondary notes of clove, bergamot, and wild herbs weave quietly through, adding layers that reward patience and a second pour. On the palate, the wine shifts into something more precise — the intense freshness of cranberry and pomegranate carries you through the mid-palate with elegance and energy. The finish is juicy and lingering, with delicate tannins that coat the mouth in the most unhurried way. Aged 12 months in new Hungarian oak by winemaker Elod Szijjarto, formerly of Bond, Harlan, and Promontory — a man who knows what great land is capable of, and found it here. Pairs beautifully with lamb, duck, wild mushroom dishes, or a story worth telling.
