Capcanes Peraj Ha'abib 2022

Capçanes Peraj Ha'abib (the flagship "Flor de Primavera") is a richly structured red from old-vine Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Tempranillo grown on the slate and limestone soils of Montsant. It pours a deep, near-opaque ruby and opens with concentrated aromas of blackberry, ripe plum, and black cherry layered over cedar, baking spice, dark chocolate, and a savory mineral edge that reflects its terroir. On the palate it's full-bodied and generous, with fine-grained tannins, well-judged French and American oak, and a long, warm finish carrying notes of licorice, tobacco, and crushed stone. It drinks well now with hearty fare but has the structure to reward several more years of cellaring.
